This Basabasa or "wave" basket is woven by the people of Winkogo in the Upper East part of Ghana where still today the main occupations are basket weaving and farming. These baskets, primarily woven by men, are only made during the dry season and each basket takes several weeks to complete. Each is a one of a kind treasure.
