At our last desert retreat, the air was so hot it felt like it hung in sheets around us.  But it was also crispy dry, and so we moved easily through it.  Our sun salutations seemed to take on more meaning with the full power of long-time, life-giving light shining down upon us.  Sunrise and sunset in a desert-scape is otherworldly, but also so essentially of this world.  Hands on our hearts, we bow to the sun.
